So in an effort to keep people up-to-date and keep myself in the spirit of journaling I’ve decided to keep an online journal instead of trying to effortlessly keep up with a paper journal that sees the light of day once a year.
There is not too much going on as of late, but I feel inspired to share and log our progress so far. We’ve currently got six months left to go until our wedding day and while I’m extremely excited for the time to pass I am also a little bit worried that we somehow won’t be able to afford the things that we both want on that day. I never imagined that getting married was so expensive! Between the caterers and the invitations there just doesn’t seem like enough money growing on trees to pay for all of these things together.
We have managed to pay the DJ already which is nothing short of a miracle since he costs a cheap $800. I say cheap because he came with the highest recommendations and as a favor to my dad’s friend he lowered his price from $1600 to $800. Thank you, God!
Next on our list of things to situate and decide upon are the caterer and the Cake. I have spent the last week talking with various caterers that had been recommended to us and think I’ve finally narrowed it down to 2. Hopefully within the next month we will have made a decision about which one to use and have made the big deposit.
Other then all that, we are doing really well. I am still working the overnight shift and it suits me just well. It has been difficult to keep and manage a life on these hours, but overall I’m handling it really well. Jeff works the second shift, so while we don’t see each other all that often we do make the time to spend together. Which, I suppose is nicer since when we do get to spend time together it is more important to both of us.
We’re gearing up for Christmas and are pretty excited to be having everyone here for this holiday. Mom is bustling around already making plans for the weekend to follow Christmas. She’s elated to be having Larry and Liz coming home for the Holidays.
I’ll end here for the night since It’s nearing time to get ready for work. I’ll end with a prayer request for one of the foster children that my parents recently took care of. Alannah is a 4 year old girl who just recently was discovered to have a tumor surrounding her liver and pancreas. Because of it’s location, the tumor is inoperable. They also suspect another tumor on her Kidney. Please keep her and her family in your prayers during this time as they await the results of the Biopsy. This is never an easy thing to hear when it concerns a child, but God always has a plan even when we can’t understand it at all.
Hey sis! I like the look of your blog. Looking forward to seeing you at Christmas. Love you!
